Christmas Sweep has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no third-party trackers. Your data lives in your iPhone and your iCloud. We can't see it. If we could, we'd still rather not.
This policy describes how Hartwell Software ("we") handles personal information in connection with the Christmas Sweep iOS app (the "App"). It covers everyone who uses the App, anywhere in the world.
We collect no personal information on our own infrastructure. We do not run a backend service that receives, stores, or processes information from the App.
If you are signed into iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, the App uses Apple's CloudKit private database to sync the data above between your own Apple devices. This data is stored in the iCloud account associated with you, governed by Apple's privacy terms, and is not accessible to us.
The optional gift-list lock uses Apple's on-device biometric authentication. Biometric templates never leave your device and are not seen by Christmas Sweep, Hartwell Software, or any third party.
If you grant photo access, photos you select are imported into the App and stored locally and (if iCloud sync is on) in your private CloudKit database. We do not upload photos to any server we control.
Local notifications are scheduled by the App on your device through Apple's UserNotifications framework. We do not operate a push-notification server. Apple's standard CloudKit silent push (used to wake the App when remote changes arrive on another of your devices) routes through Apple, not through us.

Christmas Sweep does not include, link to, or send data to any other third-party SDK, analytics provider, advertising network, social network, or external server.
For as long as you keep the App installed and your iCloud account active. Deleting the App from a device removes the on-device copy. Deleting the App from all devices and removing it from iCloud (Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage) removes the synced copy. Because we have no copy, there is nothing further for us to retain or delete.
Privacy laws in the United States (including the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA), the European Economic Area (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), and other jurisdictions give you rights such as access, correction, deletion, and portability over your personal information.
Because we do not collect or store personal information about you on our infrastructure, we have no records to access, correct, delete, or export on your behalf. You have direct, full control over your own data through the App and through your iCloud account settings. From within the App's Settings → Export, you can also generate a CSV of your gift list at any time.
Christmas Sweep is intended for adults managing household holiday plans. The App does not knowingly collect any information from children, because the App does not knowingly collect information from anyone — see Section 3.
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the App adds an optional feature that requires data leaving your device — we'll update this page, change the "Last updated" date above, and describe the change in the App's release notes. We won't quietly add tracking to a future build.
